The Secrets of Soapwriting, Highbury Grove School 1/4

1:30pm Monday February 27th, 2012

This term, young writers from Highbury Grove School will take part in a 4-week series of soap opera writing workshops in school and at the Ministry. We’ll encourage the writers to explore how the nature of characters in a soap drive the plot-lines and how plot-lines develop into a long-running series. The sessions will culminate in the completion of a collaborative final script which will be presented at the Ministry.

You don’t have to be a scriptwriter to volunteer for one of these workshops – just be prepared to apply your magic mentoring skills. We’d also love mentors who have acting skills to sign up too.

And finally – remember – this is just one session in a series of four. If you want to help these young people move from first draft to final, sign up for the other workshops in the series if you can.

The first and last sessions will be led by Pete Lawson, lead writer for EastEnders, and will take place at MoS as usual.

Please note that the second and third workshops will take place at the school: 8 Highbury Grove, London N5 2EQ.
