A Curious Cabinet Arrives in the Shop

June 1, 2012

MoS Secret Agents Make Mysterious Local Discovery …

We have finally received clearance from the Ministry of Stories’ own secret spy network to release classified information about a most curious cabinet, now in the window of Hoxton Street Monster Supplies.

Extensive investigations in the area by SANT (Secret Agents Never Tell) led to the discovery of the cabinet locally.  Agents have now categorized its even more curious contents.  They believe that these may provide evidence, not just of monstrous local shopping habits, but also of a shadowy lost property service, operating behind the scenes to assist our more forgetful and disorganised customers.

Though the Minister for Health and Safety has now cleared all of the contents – even the dead mouse earrings – SANT advises the public to remain vigilant, particularly about the large metal chains surrounding the cabinet.  They think it possible – even likely – that something big and dangerous is about to break out.

It seems an undercover network of adult agents also share a mysterious connection to the cabinet.  These are designers Joel Cady and Pippa Nissen of Nissen Richards Studio; cabinet-makers, Kester Hoefkens and Chris Mobbs; prop maker, Jaime Johnson; project manager, Leena Telen-Eley and Joe Swift of RARA who provided workshop facilities.  The Chief would like to extend massive Ministerial thanks for the time and effort they all volunteered to make our Cabinet of Curiosities a reality.

But shhh now, all this information is Highly Classified.  Got that?  Tickety-boo.  Over and out.

PS. If you’re the monster who has recently lost his or her jar of “Hairy Jelly”, now on display in the cabinet, please come into shop, burp, and make the secret sign to reclaim your item.
