A Marathon for the Ministry

April 19, 2012

A huge cheer for Andrew Williams, a 27 year old Media Researcher and avid runner, who has chosen the Ministry of Stories as his charity for the London Marathon. Though he says the personal challenge of running the marathon is motivation in itself, he is very excited to raise money for the Ministry of Stories.

Andrew heard of the Ministry  from a friend and knew straight away we were the cause he wanted to run for. He believes that creative writing activates the imaginations of children and broadens their horizons. He says that while he’s running he’ll be thinking of the difference he’s making in the lives of young people.

Andrew has nearly reached his fundraising goal of £300. That would pay for 18 children to attend a writing workshop or could supply nearly six writing workshops with the materials needed so each student can leave with a printed and bound original story.

For Andrew, the Marathon is not just a personal challenge, it is a great opportunity to raise money for a wonderful cause. You can help him and the Ministry of Stories reach our goals by donating online. If you’re fit as a fiddle yourself, why not consider fundraising for us with your next sponsored run?

We’ll absolutely be cheering for Andrew as he crosses the finish line on April 22nd. Bravo!
