The Dreamchasers

Author: Year 6 - Lansbury Lawrence

Illustrator: Ruth Faulkner

Centuries ago a young lion boy was born. He had two metre sabre tooth fangs and a big furry mane. An unusual appearance had taken over him, and he was half boy, half lion as he was raised in a closed pitch black cave. Many mammals wanted to hurt him. He longed to turn into a full boy because any time he tried to play with people they kept on running away from him. Furthermore, he wanted to become a footballer, but they didn’t want him to become one because he was really good at it. The civilisation wanted to stay away from him. They didn’t want him to play football because his two metre fangs kept puncturing the ball. He didn’t like it when they said he couldn’t play football.

One day he had a dream that he turned into a full boy and he was The Precious One. He had a dream and he dreamt that he met Slump the Giant Worm with Fangs, he was to be the one that would never run away from him.

One day Roary stumbled outside, in a special moment he bumped into Slump in a forest and he said “Sorry for bumping into you.” Roary was rude to him, he was surprised that Slump didn’t run away from him. Ever since that happened they’ve been bumping into each other.

Roary asked Slump if he wanted to play football, but Slump wasn’t sure how to play and Roary said “Shall I teach you?”

Bullies chased Roary and Slump and they had to find a gem to make their wishes come true.

Slump came up with an idea and came across a magic stick…
