Chapter Two: Can you hear my footsteps?

Posted by Miriam Nash on 4th February 2019

This week we continue our celebration of the 65th anniversary of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, with Chapter Two of Round About Candle Street, our young writers’ re-imagining of Thomas’ famous poetic radio play.

This chapter introduces characters from around Bethnal Green and Mile End. We meet a Fortnite-loving student who’s always getting in trouble, a vegetarian fox and a caretaker who needs his motivational music.

To inspire your students to write their own response to Under Milk Wood, take a look at the educational resource.
