Is it your time to shine?

Thanks to the generous support of the Jack Petchey Foundation, we are thrilled that Ministry of Stories is able to create a targeted volunteer programme specifically for London’s young people aged 16-25.

In response to our consultation with young people about how to run engaging and accessible volunteering opportunities, we have developed the Your Time to Shine programme, to offer a range of fun and exciting volunteering roles that cater to the busy and demanding schedules of young people.

From being a shopkeeper in our magical shop, to being a writing mentor in a buzzing, creative workshop full of children, or a chance to get creative as a ghostwriter, we now have a role for everyone.

Since we opened in 2010, our team of amazing volunteers have supported more than 10,000 young writers, helping them to create countless imaginative, mind-bending and original stories.

With Your Time to Shine we aim to recruit 45 new young volunteers, who in turn will generously give an additional 675 new volunteer hours – just in time to celebrate our 10th birthday!

Our dream is that some of our new volunteers will be young writers who have taken part in our creative programmes.

We make sure all our volunteers feel valued by Ministry of Stories, all while gaining confidence in leadership and creative writing, building a unique community, and earning valuable social and professional experience.

There’s never been a better time to join our family here at Ministry of Stories!

Last but not least, a very special thank you to the Jack Petchey Foundation for helping us to bring this ambition to life. We look forward to our partnership.
