Summer writing projects

Posted by theministry on 25th June 2019

We have two exciting projects running this Summer for budding young writers in Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.

Migration Tales (12 -15  year olds)

Want to get published and record a song this Summer? If you are aged 12 -15 and free 19 -23 August from 2.30 – 4.30pm then join us for Migration Tales. We’ll be exploring stories of migration and refugees through poetry, song and rap with Writing Program Leader Laila Sumpton and poet/rapper Mohammed Yahya. Your work will be published and recorded so that it can be shared during Refugee Week 2020 by Counterpoints Arts to inspire other young writers. Sign-up by 22nd July.

The Space Chase (8 -12  year olds)

Aged 8-12 and looking for an adventure? Sign-up for our expedition to space 5 – 10 August 11am – 1pm with Writing Program Leader Sandra Agard. There will be lots of writing games so we can create new poems and stories together in partnership with Shoreditch Library and inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge.
